“Here, of all Places” — Art Series

This series consists of thirteen large landscape photographs, crafted from collaged pieces of nature, lit with Los Angeles natural light, and shot with black and white film. After being developed and framed, they were presented with the following statement:
”Perfected images of beauty and escapism make up the pages of culture. Every photograph is captured, edited, conveniently packaged and delivered. This is an exploration though terrain once views and recorded by masters and travelers — landscapes once trapped within flawless compositions. Peaks, valleys, oceans and ice formations are re-contextualized through a second lens. Elements are liberated from their origin and lost in a space between presence and absence. The destination is not a specific scene — as the journey begins and ends here, of all places — but rather a more improvisational and imaginative way of perceiving the presented world.”
